Audi e-tron Charging Cable FAQs

Will this Audi e-tron Charging Cable work in public?

The simple answer is yes! All of our Audi e-tron Charging Cables will work in public. So if you have access to an ev charging station you can plug our type 2 to type Audi e-tron Charging Cable and it will work at home, in work, and public. If you don’t have access to a charging station and you need a 3 Pin to type 2 charging cable, then this Audi e-tron Charging Cable will work anywhere provided you have access to a domestic UK socket and the bill payers permission.

What Charging Cable does an Audi e-Tron require?

The first all electric Audi car, requires a Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable. This will allow you to charge your Audi e-Tron at any charging station in the UK. The charging cable that will charge the e-tron at the fastest rate is the 32amp, 3 phase charger which will give your vehicle a full charge in a little over 8 hours.

How do you charge an e-tron?

Recharging is possible in a number of flexible ways: at home via a domestic socket or, for a reduced charging time, with a specially fitted wall box; or on the road, via high-power charging stations, in all cases using the supplied charging cables. Where available, the e-tron can be replenished at 150kW terminals that can recharge the battery to 80% within 30 minutes and 100% within 50 minutes. Owners may benefit from purchasing a Type 2 3-phase charging cable for faster turnaround.

This is an expensive car to buy. Is there a cheaper alternative from Audi?

Not yet, but there soon will be. Early 2020 will see the introduction of a lighter and less expensive variant – the e-tron 50. This has a smaller battery pack but which still allows the car to travel up to 186 miles before needing to be cable charged. This should still be enough for most users, day to day.

How much does it cost to charge?

Like all other electric vehicles, this is where the money-saving comes in. At home the average cost via the standard charging cable, empty to full, will be £12.64 which means the e-tron works out at around 5.74p per mile.

  1. Mr. Hevy Norr

The 10 m Charging Cable is the perfect choice for most EV Audi E-tron owners… Long enough for regular use at public charging stations regardless of where your car has the charging socket located, but short enough for flexible for home use and still not too heavy or bulky for the daily commute!
    Definately the Best !
