DUBLIN AIRPORT:

Dublin Airport is the largest and busiest airport on the island of Ireland and is, together with Cork and Shannon airports, one of the only 3 international airports in the Republic of Ireland. For this airport, 2017 represented the record year in terms of transit passengers; that reached almost 30 million. The Airport has 2 Terminals and 2 Landing / Takeoff runways.

HISTORY: Located in the town of Collinstown, Dublin Airport was created on the ashes of the homonymous aerodrome. Initially originated as the installation of the British Royal Air Force, it was also used during the war of independence as an internment camp. After the emergence of the national airline Air Lingus (1936), the government started the construction of the new airport that also incorporated the aforementioned airfield, which was inaugurated in 1940 with a flight to Liverpool.
In addition to an impetuous growth, dating back to the early '50s, it was the 90s with their economic boom that marked the beginning of a new period of growth that continued - between highs and lows - up to the present day.

LOCATION AND CONNECTIONS: The airport is located 10km north of the center of the Irish capital, near the town of Collinstown and can be reached by taxi or bus.
The taxi from Dublin Airport to Dublin city center takes about 35 minutes and costs between € 25 / € 30. Price supplements are added on weekends and major holidays.
Given the wide offer and the great frequency (during the day every 10 minutes), the bus from Dublin Airport to the center remains the most used transportation. Travel times range between 25 and 60 minutes depending on the line and the chosen stop. To reach the central O'Connel Street or Temple Bar, it generally takes 30 minutes within moderate traffic conditions.

WIFI: Dublin Airport has a fast and unlimited Wi-Fi connection that does not require a log-in.

SECURITY CONTROLS: All passengers must undergo security checks after the check-in process and before entering the boarding area. During busy periods, passport control and baggage X-ray scanning can cause significant delays and waiting times, so we advise passengers to go to the gates at least 1 hour before the start of flight boarding. The latter can be avoided by paying a surcharge of between € 6 and € 8 for a service called "Fast Track", which can be booked through the official website of the Dublin airport (www.dublinairport.com) . Remember that containers with liquids must not exceed the capacity of 100ml and must be transported separately, inside a transparent bag, with a capacity not exceeding 1 liter and that can be hermetically sealed. The only exceptions allowed are for medicines (it is necessary to present the prescription), anti-allergic foods (only the amount strictly necessary for the trip), milk for infants (0-36 months) or liquids bought in the duty-free zone after security checks .
