Major National Express bus stations and destinations

London Victoria Coach station: this is the major coach depot in London, with buses arriving and departing to hundreds of destinations across the UK and Europe. Situated just 300 metres from London Victoria Train station, the station is easily accessed by bus, train, or taxi. Amenities at the station include toilets, waiting facilities, charging points, ticket machines, ATMS, coffee and food vendors.

Bristol: centrally located, this is a small but efficient coach station with all the basic amenities. There is a coffee station and snack bar, ticket machines, an onsite payphone and toilets.

Briminghan: located near the city centre, Birmingham coach station is a popular interchange station with many conveniences on site. Its facilities include: toilets, ATMs, Wi-Fi, charging points, coffee and snacks, waiting facilities and a nearby taxi rank. Please do note that Birmingham Coach station is located within the city’s Clean Air Zone, so if you are driving to the station check that your vehicle meets the requirements to avoid a charge.

Manchester Chorlton Street Station: located very close to some of the city’s top attractions as well as Piccadilly train station, which is just a 5 minute walk away. Manchester coach station has an onsite cash point, ticket machines, charging facilities, toilets and car parking available.

Leeds City Bus station: centrally located to the east of the city centre, Leeds City Bus station provides connections for National Express buses going to Manchester, Birmingham and destinations across the UK. National Express ticket types

National Express tickets are split into three types which vary in price according to their flexibility. There are no seating class differences with National Express. Seat reservations are possible for a fee of £2 per person but can only be reserved for the first five rows on the coach. National Express tickets types are:

  • Restricted: This ticket cannot be refunded or exchanged. Tickets are only valid on the selected coach journey. Book this ticket type if you are certain of the time and date of your journey.
  • Standard:Exchangeable but non-refundable. Changes can be made an hour before departure to the date and time for a £5 fee.
  • Fully-Flexible: Can be amended and refunded for a fee up to 72 hours before departure.

How do I buy National Express tickets online?

How far in advance can I book National Express tickets?

National Express tickets go on sale about 15 months in advance, giving travellers plenty of time to organise their trip. If your trip is over 15 months away, you can set up an email alert with Omio and we’ll let you know as soon as tickets are available for you to book.

How can I reserve a seat on National Express?

Selecting seats work on a first-come, first-serve basis when boarding the bus. If you would rather reserve a seat in advance you can do so for a £2 fee when booking your ticket, reserved seats are only available on the first five rows of National Express coach.

How do I collect my National Express ticket?

If you booked your ticket with Omio, you will have your ticket sent directly to your email. Alternatively you can download the app and choose a mobile ticket. It's that easy. For those who want a printed ticket, it’s possible to print your National Express ticket at a ticket office but only at select stations.

Do I need to show any form of ID when I show my ticket to board the coach?

National Express does not specifically ask passengers to show ID when boarding their coaches, although we suggest that passengers travel with a valid ID that includes your birthdate.

Who should I contact if I have a problem with my bus?

What services are available for disabled passengers?

National Express coaches offer a passenger lift at the front entrance of the coach. If you are a passenger travelling in a wheelchair, please notify National Express at least 36 hours in advance of your departure at 08717 81 81 81.

What is the baggage policy?

Carry on baggage: One piece of soft hand luggage (45cm x 35cm x 20cm) is allowed on board provided it fits under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bins. With the exception of briefcases, no hard-shelled cases, wheeled bags or hard-framed rucksacks/backpacks are permitted on board. These items may be stowed in the hold area for no additional charge.

Hold Luggage: Each passenger is permitted up to two medium bags (70cm x 30cm x 45cm), weighing 20 kg max each in the hold. Additional baggage, oversized or special items* are subject to a fee.

Additional luggage: Passengers can purchase an allowance for additional baggage in person or online prior to departure.

Pushchairs and buggies: Passengers can stow pushchairs and buggies in the hold for no additional fee.

Can you bring bikes on board?

Only foldable bikes are permitted on board if they are stowed in a padded bag or hard case.

Can I bring my pet on board?

The only pets allowed onboard National Express coaches are assistance dogs. It’s important to let National Express know that they will be joining you, you can do this by calling their contact centre more than 36 hours before departure.
